CO2 does not deteriorate with age and can therefore be stored for an indefinite time.●CO2 leaves no residue to be cleaned up after extingui-shment of fire. Therefore the equipment that has not been damaged by fire can be re-used at once.●NOHMI’s unique actuating method using gas pres-sure Actuating cylinder enables simple and reliable actuation of the carbon dioxide extinguishing system. By the use of copper tube for the control lines, the cost of the actuating system is extremely low.●Approved by principal countries’ government autho-rities and ship classification societies in the world. NOHMI carbon dioxide extinguishing systems have been installed over three thousand ships.Engine Room and Pump Room etc. (Total Flooding System)The total flooding system is designed to discharge at least 85% of the total quantity of CO2 required for the protected space within two minutes so that any fires in the space can be extinguished at once. The total flood-ing system is the best method which allows the carbon dioxide extinguishing system to fully exhibit its advan-tages. The semi-total flooding system is also available. The semi-total flooding system is suited for the cargo space loading the self-propelled vehicles, and is capable of discharging two thirds of the total quantity of CO2 required for this particular space within ten minutes.Cargo Holds (Manual Release System)Nature of fires can vary with cargos and possibly range from surface fires to deep-seated ones. It is also used as manifold valve when the carbon dioxide exting-uishing system is combined with the smoke sampling type fire detection system. In the latter installation, the air sampling intakes installed in the cargo holds are connected with the smoke detection panel through the manifold valves for continuous monitoring of the cargo holds. In case of fire, as the lever on the valve is turned, the air sampling intake (also serving as discharge nozzle) is connected with the CO2 cylinders through the valve so that CO2 can be discharged into the affected zone.Discharge NozzlesDischarge nozzles are installed to develop a uniform concentration of the extinguishing agent in all parts of the protected spaces. Model SA discharge nozzle is used in such areas as engine room and pump room where the total flooding system is installed. Model SM discharge nozzle is used for the manual release system installed in the cargo holds. When used in the Smoke Sampling Type Fire Detection System, Model SM discharge nozzle also serves as air in-take.●船用分配弁/分岐弁CO2 CylindersThe CO2 cylinders used in NOHMI carbon dioxide extinguishing sys-tems passed the inspection pre-scribed by “High-Pressure Gas Control Law”. The approval marks ○TY and are stamped on each cylinder. Cylinders conforming to the standards of other countries (BS, BV, NSI Standards, etc.) are also available. 68L and 82.5L type cylinder can be used.●炭酸ガス容器Model PH 14B Cylinder ValveModel PH 14B cylinder valve is installed on each CO2 cylinder and can quickly be opened by gas pres-sure from the actuating cylinder or by manual operation.●PH14型容器弁Delay Discharge UnitNK, JG, ABS, LR and NV Rules require that an audible evacuation alarm be given for a duration of at least 20 seconds before discharging CO2.
